FAQ

Where is your office located?

My office is located at:

916 Fuller Street
Ann Arbor, MI 48104

I also offer telehealth appointments using a HIPPA-compliant and secure platform. You can use it from the comfort of your home, school, or office.

How long is a typical session?
A typical session is usually 50 minutes. If you are in crisis, your session may take longer.
What are your hours?
I try to be flexible. I offer mornings, afternoons, and occasional evening hours.
Do you take insurance?

I am a participating provider of BCBS and BCN. I am an out-of-network provider for all other insurance companies. I suggest contacting your insurance company before your first session to determine if you have out-of-network benefits for in-person and/or telehealth sessions.

If you use your BCBS or BCN insurance, you may have a co-payment. I suggest contacting your insurance company to get this information before your initial appointment.

If you have out-of-network benefits, I will provide you with a receipt or a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Also, if you have a Health Saving Account, all sessions are a medical expense, which is tax deductible.

How do I pay?
You can pay via credit card, check, health saving account, or cash.
How do I set up an initial appointment?

I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to provide information to help guide your decision regarding therapy and to make sure that I can assist you.

If you decide that you would like to schedule an appointment with me, you will receive instructions on how to register as a new client on my patient portal system. I will email you an invitation through the portal system.

Before your first appointment, you must complete all paperwork sent to you electronically through the portal.

What is the best way to reach you?

You can call me at (734) 203-0938 and leave a message if I am unavailable. I will get back to you as soon as I am available.

Do you offer video sessions?

Yes. I have a license to practice in Michigan. Additionally, I have the ability to see clients via telehealth services in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a minimum of a 24-hour (one-day) notice for rescheduling or canceling an appointment.

Unless we discuss a different agreement (i.e., emergencies), I will charge you the full fee for sessions missed without such notification.

Do you work with couples or families?
I don’t work with couples. I occasionally allow a family member to join in on a session if we determine that this will benefit your treatment goals. Additionally, I will gladly provide appropriate referrals to other therapists who work with couples and families.
With what age range do you work?
I work with individuals over the age of 18.
How long will I be in therapy?
The length of therapy depends on your symptom presentation and level of functioning. Every client’s journey is different. If you commit to improving the quality of your life, you may see results faster than someone who is not fully ready to do so.
How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?

You asked a great question! You will feel it in the relationship, how I respond to you, and how you feel in my presence.

Whether you look forward to our sessions or not, this will give you a big clue about how you feel about working with me. You should feel safe, heard, and understood.
